Mowing Larry's mid mountain mower storage axles

I just picked up a set of Larry's axles for my 60" Kubota mid-mount mower deck. What a wonderful way to store my deck vertical, takes up less floor space, easier to move around and is perfect for cleaning and doing maintenance. . Thank you Larry.

Dumb Question(s) Time,

1. Are these axles designed to be welded onto the deck, so they're on, permanently?

a) If so, do they get in the way of anything (esp. if you're using wheel spacers?)



2. How does one tip up the mower deck, to use them (I mean, if the FEL and/or BH is not on)?


3. Even if you're using the FEL/BH to tip up the deck, is that a calm process, or does it require "S.O.S." (i.e., Super-human Operator Skills? :laughing:

1) No, you remove the front anti-scalp wheels and replace with the axles.

2) I just lift mine, it's heavy but managble. Some might need assistance however.

3) It would be very easy to use the FEL, hoe, or even a ceiling mounted hoist to top the deck vertical.

I guess you have to live in the middle of the mountains to own them. Just kidding, probably auto correct. I also have had a set for several years. I lift mine up with the end loader and then install them. It is nice for storage.

manually lifting the mmm?? wow, you all must be stronger than I am - my JD 62D is a heavy thing.. I made a set of wheel stands and THOUGHT that I would use my deer skinning pully system to lift it up enough to install the stand.. I couldnt even to hardly move..

Now i use the FEL - I dont know how other could manage it manually
