I would like to see some comments about rakes. I have a BX2200 and would like to get a 5-foot rake. I have apx 100' of old driveway that I dug up but still have many of the fill rocks around. I also have 1/4 acre of front yard to be leveled out and seeded this fall. I can use my box blade and fel to distrube the 6 loads of topsoil then use the rake to make it ready for seed. I read some post that suggests using a rake with height wheels. Are they really necessary? I can get a brand new light duty 5’ Worksaver rake for $300 will this work for what I want done? Should I look at a 6’ Rake?

Dave -- Not sure how much of a rake the BX2200 can handle, but they sure are handy for a multitude of tasks. The wheels come in handy when your ground is uneven. Without them, every obstruction your tractor traverses is transmitted back to the rake. The light duty rakes work fine for light duty chores, but can fold up like pretzels when they encounter something they don't like.
