Rake landscape rake

I have a Woods landscape rake with gauge wheels and it tears the heck out of the grass.

I agree. I made a mess out of turf trying to use a landscape rake with or without gauge wheels trying to pick up either rocks or fallen branches. If you don't set the rake shallow enough then rocks just slip under and branches get caught in the tines and turn into plows. If you set the rake too aggressively it simply removes the turf. In fact, if I wanted to remove turf altogether I cannot think of a better tool. I think landscape rakes are made to landscape dirt, not to groom, clean or otherwise work with turf.
