I've read that a landscape rake can act almost like a blade. Some remove teeth to let them work better. How effective would one be trying to blade snow?

Might be better than nothing but my guess is that is about all you can say for it.

Wet sticky snow would have less tendency to sift between the tines than dry powdery snow. I would also suspect it would be more difficult for the snow to slide on the tines with the rake angled.

Since I have a snow plow I have never tried the rake.

why not its just snow! maybe make something to hold all the springs together like two pieces of flat steel and a couple nuts and bolts to hold it on the springs like a sandwich.

See no reason why not to give it try only pulling tho.

I've been thinking of buying the 8ft everything attachments rake to help groom a gravel drive. My total driveway is about 4/10 mile, with 60%of it gravel. Been using loader bucket to clear snow..... not an issue on the blacktop portion but gravel, different story.

In southern Illinois we don't get an abundance of snow, but of the three years I've been here... 18" snow first year, 10" next year, and just had 8" followed by another 1.5 inches. Gravel portion drifted shut twice. Once within 2 hours. I need something better than the bucket for this. Being retired not enough money to buy the right things so trying to determine if one purchase can serve multiple reasons.
