Anyone have any experience with the Landpride SGC05 grapple? Looks like it could be a little flimsy from the video but if the price is right, it might be pretty handy for me handling brush for burn piles. I am pretty rough with my FEL. I would probably have to be gentle with this though... what do you all think?

I don't think it would be flimsy, not on a BX. The loader and the weight (or lack of) are going to limit you from doing things that could damage it.

Wow, this grapple must be new. Haven't seen it before. I've been thinking of adding the Thumb grapple to my BX bucket for about a year but never pulled the trigger. The Landpride version is a true grapple. It does look like you could bend something if not careful, but I'd have to see it in person to get a feel for sure. Great, something else to lust after. :licking: Wonder what the pricing is with the 3rd function valve included? If the 3rd function was an option, I'd probably just power it off of one of my rear remotes. Definitely something to consider depending on pricing.

Yeah, I stumbled across this last night but haven't found any other info or pricing. Looking forward to hearing more! :licking:

Looks like the perfect grapple for a BX to me.

I would not be worried about that grapple on a BX. The grapple is basically a Rake style with longer lower teeth so it can pick up debris better. Not that a BX has enough push to drop the lower tines into the ground and effectively grub out roots. But those tines, assuming they are mild steel, could easily bend without some gusseting. The grapple looks to be a good fit for a BX. Another feature of the Rake style over an L bottom grapple is that it does not stick out as far in front of your FEL. So it is easier to maneuver.

I built my own design out of 3/8" mild steel with 7 tines. No problems on a 1026r. My tractor could be twice as heavy and not bend it. I think this is better than my design for a small tractor because a guy wouldn't be as tempted to use it as a ram. Mine is so heavy and tough that i do dumbbell things with it when I'm in a hurry
