I was wondering if anyone had experience with the landpride fm2584 flail mowers or the victory heavy duty extra wide flails. Both seem to be made well and heavy duty. I have 11 acres I’ll be mowing of mixed grass and weeds and little limbs that fall out of the trees under an inch in diameter. Not really sure if I need the slide shift or not. But both have that option. The landpride is not hydraulic but you can hook it up on a 10” offset. Which seems really solid. Both flails look really well built and are very heavy. I have a Kubota M4 that I’ll be using with either flail. On the landpride I noticed that it has these bars welded down the whole length onto the rotor that hold the flails, not sure if that is good or not. And the Victory extra wide heavy duty doesn’t seem to have any reviews at all. So anybody who has experience with either brand flail mower option would be valued. Thanks

The Del Morino and Maschio Flail mowers are companies you should
look at as well.
Kubota was buying and importing the heavier Maschio flail mowers
in landpride paint before they decided to make thier own flail mowers
which is a shame as the Maschio quality of build is better in my opinion.
The thick bar stock welded to the small diameter rotor is a copy of how
John Deere mounts thier scoop and side slicer knives on thier small
diameter flail mower rotor that is all it is.
You have to keep in mind that if you purchase a land pride flail the
hammer knives the side slicer knives are not interchangeable and the
hammer knives will not recut green brush on the second pass as they
have less lift. The use of the brush rakes helps to hold the brush to
recut it a second time but the mounting method for the brush rakes
leaves a great deal to be desired as they can vibrate the spring clips
off and the brush rakes will drop off.
I tell anyone that has one of these mowers to take the brush rakes
out and drill the holes a little larger and use a piece of bar stock with
fitted with cotter pins on both ends.
You can replace the spring pins with cotter pins just as well and the brush
rakes will stay in place too.

I was actually looking at the maschio Tigre. It seems really good. But I thought it might be easier to just get a brand of flail at place that sales them where I live so if I had any problems like Kubota or John Deere brands.
Have you heard anything about the victory extra wide heavy duty brand. That unit is really heavy and seems to be made well. But that could just be the pictures online. You really never know these days what you are getting until you actually recieve it. Out of the maschio and the del Marino I think I like the maschio Tigre for its cutting capacity. But I don’t know anything about any of these so I’m just speculating at this point. That’s why I’m asking you guys. No shame here, I would like to enjoy and be happy with my purchase for this amount of money. Nothing worse then regretting a purchase and knowing you could have did a little leg work and maybe avoided the mistake all together. Thanks again

and higher EU agricultural safety standards.
Prior to kubota kicking Maschio to the curb the Maschio flail crop shredders with
land pride paint came with a rear discharge door that comes in very handy for
mowing tall thick brush and crops like sunflowers, corn stubble, and unmowed tall brush.
Look at the Vrisimo and John Deere flail mowers as well before you make a decision please.

Mechanically the LP FM2584 has had zero problems. It is robustly built of quality materials and all I've done was routine lubrication. I originally ordered it with "Y" knives and was not satisfied with the quality of cut on residential lawns compared with the Ford 918H flail I owned previously. I attribute this to the fewer number of knives on the LP compared to the Ford. It did cut acceptably well on pasture grass. Hammer blades will physically interchange with "Y" knives on the same rotor, however LP advises against doing so as it may cause rotor vibration due to being out of balance. I already had the hammer blades and decided to try them anyway. I was lucky and the balance was within limits. The hammer blades give a somewhat smoother cut on grass and of course will handle heavier brush as well. The LP has a discharge opening in the rear and has no problem loading up when mowing tall grass or brush. LP also offers the FM2584 with Duckfoot blades which may be more suitable for lawn mowing. I have mounted the mower in both the centered and offset positions. I don't have any mowing situations where an offset mounting is an advantage, so use the center mounting.

The peruzzo line is primo. I just got a Nova tractor ditch flail, the make standard flails as well. I almost got a JD, but their Frontier flail is made in China

I was on the fence for a few years between Peruzzo and Del Morino, and ended up with the Del Morino because there was a dealer local to me. No disrespect to the various Chinese manufacturers, but I read about entirely too many issues with their design, assembly, and quality (generally speaking).
