I have a landpride 1660 finish mower that is 11 years old and has 700 hrs on it.
It has started to vibrate bad, and gone through two belts this year alone. I adjusted pulley spring to proper tension. Replaced one pulley and it was good for a while and it started again. I'm thinking the main shaft could be bent. I don't want to dump more money in it then I have to.
Anyone have this problem before.is it worth rebuilding?

I had a similar problem with a 2560 I bought used. It had been sitting outside, unused, for several years. The tensioner pulley was not centered on the drive belt, and the three pulleys for the blade spindles were rusted badly enough that they kept chewing up the belt. Also the bushing for the tensioner arm was worn enough that the tensioner moved back and forth, not just rotating about the pvot point. I spent less than $200 on parts and have a smooth running mower now, at a fraction of the cost of a new one.
