I recently bought a new Kubota B 2650 and also bought a used Landpride 1560 finish mower off craigslist but I keep breaking belts
The guy said he replaced the belt end of last season but it broke after 1 mow, I bought a replacement belt (Not an official landpride belt) off amazon for $20 and now I have broke that after 2-3 mows.

Everything is greased and looks fine but the tension pulley seems to shake an incredible amount when I have the tractor running at 540+- RPM,

Is this the sign of a bad bearing or do I need to just fork out $90 and buy a landpride belt?

Thanks for any help this is my first rear finish mower and so far I love the way it cuts the grass just concerned about breaking belts so quick

You don't have to buy a Landpride belt, but you should buy a belt constructed with Kevlar, like the Landpride belt is.

I'd bet that you've got a bad bearing or an alignment problem somewhere in there, could even be a bad pulley. With the belt off, it doesn't take long to check the bearings for any play, just a few minutes more to check alignment with a good straightedge and hardly anytime at all to run a finger around the pulleys to check for rough or high spots.

+1 on the kevlar belt

How heavy/thick grass are you cutting?
On my Woods 5' finish mower, I quit cutting heavy weeds or thick grass. I broke two belts before I realized it was a "finish mower" not a "bush hog". :2cents:

Cheaply made low-buck belts aren't gonna last on a finish mower under any but the most gentle circumstances. Looking everything over is good practice, but don't panic if everything checks out OK.
