Hope someone can answer a silly question...

I have a Land Pride RCR2596 mower. Replaced the shield on the drive shaft last year. Now, I need to replace the shield on the PTO.

I assume that I need to disconnect the two shafts - see pic. From the pic, the PTO shaft runs left from the junction to the tractor. The drift shaft runs right to the mower gear box. The PTO bell is obviously buggered.

How on earth does one separate these two shafts? I can find nothing on google to point me in the right direction.

It looks to me that you pull the coller back and disconnect it , maybe have to take the long pin out first.

You were right - needed a bit of persuasion but it eventually separated. Unlike the driveline shaft, this PTO shaft is one piece so I will need to remove one of the yokes in order to install a new shield. The yokes haven't budged so far - gonna let PB Blaster work overnight and hope for better results tomorrow.
