I just bought a used FDR 1672 finish mower. It looks like the gearbox mount platform is bent slightly, and the drive pulley is not quite aligned with the others. It's as if it were lifted by the gearbox shaft, so now the shaft isn't horizontal, it points up a little. The mount plate unbolts, and has a slot to slide the gearbox out with the pulley attached.
My question is Will the gearbox just unbolt and slide out? If the pulley stays on, are there any oil seals to mess with? Do you think a shop press could flatten the mount plate?
Thanks for any help.

I just had mine out for a painting job about a year ago. There isn't anything like seals to worry about. Just unbolt it and slide it out. I surely don't remember anything difficult about it and is pretty straightforward. Mine is an 84" but shouldn't really matter.

Don't make the job more complicated than its needs to be.

Shim the gearbox using washers to lift one side or tilt it front to back.

Mower decks often have to be shimmed to get the individual blade housing in correct alignment with the other blades.
