Lamborghini 674 leaking oil around PTO shaft

I have a Lamborghini 674/70 2WD...When I run an implement on the PTO, oil leaks from around the PTO Shaft..When I'm not using the PTO, it's fine...

I've replaced the sealing ring around the PTO shaft but it's leaking as bad as ever...is there a bearing in there which could have gone and is causing the shaft to wobble slightly, thus destroying the seal and is it difficult to replace?...

I'm trying to find a low cost fix and any advice would be much appreciated

I know on my Kubota that there is a bearing w/ seal in the pto housing. I had to drain hydraulic oil and remove housing and shaft recently for a repair. I replaced o ring seal where housing seats into case. I could see bearing in the housing at that time, in which mine was good and so was the outer seal.

Any chance you have a pic of that Lamborghini? Would be interested to see. Does sound like a bearing issue.

By the way, you have a beautiful country over there. Just got back from taking my family there. Probably the best vacation we have had. Brought my mother and it was her third trip there. Her mother actually was born there and came to the states when she was 18.

Thanks for the replies guys...DLTTrekkers, what do mean about the breather?...The small oil filter thingy on top of the Back-end? The Dealer is over 100 miles away so usually we get him to mail stuff

Deerslayer, yeah it can be nice over here...Think it's either the inner shaft damaged where the seal fits, or a bearing issue...have ordered the workshop manual cd to see what it entails as a dealer fix would be prohibitively expensive.

If hydraulic housing can not breath it will press oil out everywhere

Pretty sure it's not breather...took it of (screws by hand) and can't see holes blocked...

The pto bolts to an inner shaft...is it difficult to remove the inner shaft for inspection?...looks like I can gain access below cab

Might get shaft from a Same explorer from breakers

..Have the workshop manual and have checked bearings...seem tight...have removed breather and cleaned it as there was a load of oily chaff/crud under it..

Rather than dismantle the whole back end am gonna try a new seal (again)...fingers crossed
