LA854 loader pins seized

Update: finally got some time and got the pins taken care of. They were crazy stuck. I tried everything. Air chisel - no go. Welded a big nut on the end and put an impact on it - just ripped the nut off. I beat them with an 8lb sledge hammer - nothing.

I thought about using heat, but the problem is there's a pressed steel bushing in there around the pin, so I wasn't sure the heat would transfer into that very well. Plus melting the paint.

So I finally took a sawzall with a metal blade and sawed the ends off the pins so I could get the loader mount off. Then I drilled the pins out to 3/4" (that is some hard steel!). Then took the sawzall again and carefully slotted the pin without cutting into the bushing behind it. Then drove out the remaining pieces of the pin.

There was some serious rust in there. I cleaned the bores with a heavy wire wheel on a die grinder but the new pins still wouldn't fit. So I used a brake cylinder hone and that did the trick.

All fixed now. Note to self: ALWAYS keep those pins greased!

Thanks for the follow up. So many folks come asking for help but never follow up with what they did or did not achieve.
Good work! That looked like lots of work to get off.
