If you find the place to buy the Briggs motor at the right price it will be cheaper then rebuilding probably. Not true all the time but they designed that series mower as a throw away. It's not built near as heavy as the x300s. So like I said if it's worth it to you to rebuild it you can probably find a replacement engine at the same or cheaper then having it bored or honed and rebuilding it yourself.
