I've been reading a lot of threads about how great it is to have a TnT so I went to the local Kubota dealer and ask how much for a system. The parts guy didn't know what I was talking about. So I went to Princess Auto and found that they carried 3 different Hydraulic top cylinders but they were all too short for my tractor and they did not carry the side tilt cylinders. A little more reading on this forum and I found what I needed. A DIY top link extender and a thread about making your own tilt cylinder. So back to PA I go and get the longest top link cylinder they carry. It's a 2.5" cylinder with a 10" stroke and I got a 2.5" x 6" cylinder for the tilt. I had to cut off the top and bottom tubes that were welded to the top of the cylinder and to the end of the rod. Then make a "U" shaped connector for the bottom and weld that in place plus weld a swivel eye to the top of the cylinder. This was the tricky part because the eye had to be on an angle and it was hard to get everything aligned but I got it done.

I was leery about welding and creating too much heat, which could destroy the seals, distort the ram or the cylinder but after reading some threads and seeing that others have done it successfully, I went for it. Boy am I glad I did.

Here are some pics of the freshly finished and painted setup. The paint isn't even dry but I had to try it out and absolutely love the new capabilities it offers.

When I ordered a TnT on my new L5740HSTC and to my surprise the dealer had never done one. Everything worked well and looked nice. My brother looked at it and made his own with parts from wholesale hydraulics place and they look and work great. I have purchased from Fit-Rite, but stays pretty covered up. I have a Land Pride HR3584 and the three sets of hoses makes it so much easier to use.

I can't get over how awesome the side tilt works with the box blade. Thus going to make using the rear blade and rake much better.

I'm thinking of adding a 3rd rear remote too. Then I can add retractable gauge wheels to the box blade and other rear implements. Will have to see how much the dealer will charge for this. Hope its cheaper than the third function was.

I think we are going to for-go a third function on our M8540HDC and install a diverter kit. We are using a rear remote for our grapple now. Another set of rear remotes is pretty costly.

I've had both, a diverter and now a 3rd function and prefer the diverter because you can feather the movement. With the 3rd function it is on or off, no feathering.

I checked out part prices for a third rear remote, on the Canadian Kubota parts catalogue and holy crap the parts are expensive. I'd guess that another rear remote would be over $2,000 installed, maybe as high as $3,000. Just for giggles I'm going to get a price form the dealer. I have a diverter valve and hoses that I took off my old tractor when I traded it in and may use that to produce a 3rd rear hyd function. Not sure where I would take the feed for it and will have to check that out, if I go ahead with the install. Any ideas as to where to take the feed from?

Hilbilly, raise your draft arms up to the top pin location in the lower clevis and extend the side link rod to 3" and then adjust the left link to match. You will then have an equal amount of tilt to the left and right sides and still have about the same amount of lift height that you have now.

If you have a diverter, then just use one of your rear remotes. A couple of 24" hoses run from the current valve couplers over to the diverter and you're all set. Or you could actually connect the valve hoses directly to the diverter and remove one of the factory sets of couplers. Several ways this can be done.

Mount the diverter right on top of the current valve stack. Install your control grip on the control lever for that valve and you are good to go.

Great info Brian and thanks for that. I like your diverter idea but think it will be a little more involved. I will need to feed the diverter from one of the remotes, I'm thinking ahead of the existing couplers and then run 4 lines out of it, one set to the existing couplers and the second set to a new set of couplers that hopefully could be mounted on top of the existing stack. There is not a lot of room between the remote valves and the couplers to do all of that but it may be possible. I will take a closer look and do a little more head scratching to try and visualize how this could be done. I remember there was a real cluster of hoses running into and out of the diverter valve on the old tractor and there was a lot more room where I mounted that setup. Going to take a look the next time I get out to the tractor. Likely wont get to this in quite a while though, since I don't need the 3rd remote yet.

Nice Work.

Was at PA in Mississauga Last Night, getting crushed glass, blasting medium.
