Tractor
Kubota L4240 HSTC,L3000DT
Thinking about trading my L4240 HSTC for one of the above mentioned.Purchased the L4240 new and it only has 1200 hours on it.I would like a little more power and weight but not sure on giving up HST.The L6060 seems to be the same tractor but with more power so not a big jump;to go with the M series I would be into a shuttle shift(12 speed).
What I have seen on the new M4 is impressive and expensive but either choice will be my last tractor.
We do mostly snow-plowing and food plot work, lots of bush-hogging.I don't really want to upgrade all my implements they are all Cat 1.,where the M's are Cat 2(I know I can run Cat 1 with them).
Thoughts? Another consideration;Tier 4

The cab on the M4 is supposed to be really nice. Wait until they're in stock to sit in it. The L6060 has the same cab as my L3560. It's not a phone booth like the B2650, but it's not exactly the Ritz either. M7060 cab looks almost identical to the Grand L cab, but I've never sat in one.

I've been thinking about the same thing. The L6060 is just not enough of a bump in power to justify for me. My other problem is that I just bought a BH92 backhoe last year (which I love) and would have to have a different one with the M7060. My 4240 only has 450 hours on it. Any way I look at it, I would be in for 30K going this route. I'm actually considering keeping what I have and buying a non-cab used M7040 to add to the stable... key word is considering. I also looked at a Kioti 7230 yesterday...pretty nice. No clue yet what I'm actually going to do... LOL

I love the Grand L Series, I have an L5740HSTC, but the only way it is practical is because four miles away we have an M8540HDC. I had some barn damage; my 5740 didn't have enough weight or power, so in comes the 8540 to save the day.

My first rig was an L4630 GSTC used with 24xx hrs and over 4 years put 800 hrs on it.
Mostly snow plowing, firewood hauling and a little logging.
It did everything I asked of it and then some but decided that I wanted/needed a bigger, lower hour machine so I began looking for a used L5740 or the like.
But after 2 months of fruitless searching, I found a used M6040 about an hour + north of me.
I knew zip about the M's and was surprised at how much more tractor it is compared to the L's.
It was at a JD dealer who had taken it and another tractor in trade on a new JD dually and t wanted it off the lot asap.
So I rushed up looked it over and made an offer that he accepted.
The M series is a totally different beast than the L's.Bigger, heavier and more powerful.
Good luck in your search.

I decided to forgo the trade and build a new pole barn to put the old tractor in;it has been out-side it's whole life.So a new project 36x24x12 'pole barn;waiting on material quotes;have a builder lined up.
Hope to get started in the next two weeks;way too wet right now.
That looks like a great deal on the Kioti;we don't have any dealers any-where near us.
