I ended up replacing my L4060 battery with a group 24 Odyssey. I believe it was a 24f that has the correct terminal orientation.
There wasn't much extra cable to work with, so I didn't want to risk the cables not reaching if I turned a group 24 around (the posts are not centered on the case).
The OEM battery lasted 9 years, and was still reliably starting the tractor, but slow cranking. I read a few accounts of modern computer controlled tractors frying the computer due to slow cranking with older batteries, so I replaced it.
