My L5030 rear 3-pt will not drop unless I put (my fat-***) a lot of weight on it. Even at 220lbs I have to jump on it.
Things I have looked at:
r
  • removed top hydraulic valving and inspected the speed drop lever to make sure it was not broken and connected internally
  • inspected all the springs
  • valves and relief valves, all are normal.
  • no blockages or restrictions that I could see in the valving
  • The hydraulic cylinders do not seem to be bent.

Any input is appreciated!

Does your L5030 have a knob just below the front of the seat that controls the rate of speed that your 3-point hitch will drop? There is a control knob for that purpose on my L4200. If so, try adjusting it.

Yes, I checked all that, even took apart the whole hydraulic valving system that controls the 3-pt. (See above in my post)

But it WILL drop when you put weight on it?? Will it stay down???

Yes, it drops with weight and does not creep up at all. It acts the same whether the tractor is running or not when I go to put down the three point

On my 3350 the 3ph is gravity drop. Makes me think some of the linkages may need to be lubed. Just my 3cents

All lubed up, my 3-pt is also gravity drop, it just takes 250 lbs to help gravity pull it down.

I read your post above. That is why I tried to help by replying. You mentioned speed drop lever, not a control knob which you turn. No need to be sarcastic when someone is trying to help. :confused3:

I totally wasn’t being sarcastic, I assumed you missed part of the post, sometimes the long posts do not show the whole body. I appreciate all input, I promise!

Sounds like something obstructing the flow of fluid since it will drop with more pressure, kinked hose maybe? When was it last working fine, can you remember any incidents after or just suddenly started giving you issues for no apparent reason?
