L5030 HST hydraulic fluid level

I just posted a message about fixing a leak in a hydraulic hose or fitting. After I sort that out how do I check the hydraulic fluid level and add more if necessary? I must be blind or something but I have been looking at the owner's manual and can not find how to do it. Thanks for the help. I am very new to this.

Dipstick and filler cap (red or pink) is behind the seat between the three point hitch. Access from the back. I check my L3430 with all the cylinders retracted - loader, three point and remotes.

I saw in the manual that the transmission filler cap and dipstick are located there. Is the transmission fluid and the hydraulic fluid the same thing? Do they share the same reservoir and use the same fluid?

The transmission fluid and the hydraulic fluid are the same thing, they share the same reservoir and use the same fluid. If you need to purchase additional fluid make sure to get the Universal type that works in both the transmission and hydraulic implements.

RobA, Don't feel alone. I had the same problem you had when I first got the tractor - I could not determine, from the manual If the fluids were the same or different. The hydraulic and transmission fluid even though they have two different filters and three different drain plugs have only one place to fill and it is the UDT or the Super UDT fluid.
