Hey everyone,
I'm going to do the 50 hour service on my L48. I have the filters, fluids and service manual. Are there any tips or tricks that I should know.
Regards.

Getting to the tranny screen is a pain in the ***......requires a small Japanese boy or some skinned nuckles. Only use Super UDT, and maybe you want to only reoplace the filters and wait a bit longer for the fluid as it is sooooo dam expensive. $105 a 5 G pail up here. Tighten all loader bolts, including ROPS/FOPS. Tighten all loose nuts, of course, check lights and connectots.....and the foam head protecter seems to always come off. Grease front axel and both steering points. I also use alot of 3&1 oil on all 3PT sockets. Good luck, and nice machine.

Thanks Curtis... that screen does look like it is going to be difficult. I don't see how it is going to get past the linkage arms and rods when I try to remove it. Is it flexible enough to bend as it is comming out?

Nope, I recall having to take aprt about 3 interconnecting linkage arms and incurring numerous skinned nuckles to get at it. I was happy to find nominal to little metal filings in the screen which was assuring. Havings 2 of them speeds things knowing what you learned from the 1st machine. I try to schedule all maintenece together, as with my other machines to be effecient. When did youbuy your L48 new? You may have gotten one of the last batches of a great Kubota product. Oh, and also, oil the pin/shaft of the HST pedal as it seems to wear and drmatacilly reduce the ground speed of the machine. It comes with replacable bushings, as do other critical areas of the machine. People may moan about the L48 tranny being too slow and too fast in their respective ranges, but be assured, the machine is very impressive cabalility and design wise. Enjoy.

I just finished putting the screen back in. There were just a couple of tiny flecks of metal.
I bought the L48 in 2007. I haven't been able to use it a lot yet, but when I have it definetly gets the job done!
Thanks for the help.
