L4740 AND TIRE CHAINS CLEARANCE

I have a Kubota L4740 and looking at getting tire chains. There is about 2 inches of clearance from tire to frame. I cannot space out the tires any farther because my snow blower is a 72 inch. So is there enough clearance for chains without banging against the frame and taking my light wiring out? Does anybody have any experience with this?

I just got some roadmaster ladder type chains for my L3400, and although I have wheel spacers which set the wheels out 1.75", giving plenty of clearance, I think ladder type chains might be you best bet. Just make sure there aren't any loose ends flapping around- tie everything in, and you should be okay, but not by a lot. Ladder style are pretty thin compared to some, taking up maybe an inch or so. Maybe you can see a difference between my old tractor's chains, and the new ones? EDIT: I checked, and even my chains add almost 2" on the inside of the tire, so you will have to find something really thin.

How much clearance in total would you need for a ladder type chain?

The particular chains would vary, of course, but mine look like 1.5" is the chain's max. thickness, so add an inch or so for "clearance" and you are looking at roughly 2 1/2" from the tire's sidewall to the fender metal.
