Since we're all dreaming here, what model Bradco is a good fit for the L3010? I have the literature but wasn't sure which one would be a good fit, both physically and functionally. David

Your best advice will come from a dealer who has sold both Kubota and Bradco for several years. My guess is they'll suggest the 408 - not so big it dwarfs your tractor, but definitely not a toy either.

I came across a dealers web site last night (don't remember who) that listed Bradco hoes for the grand L series. The smaller Ls can take a 509 or 609, and the bigger Ls (3710 and up) can take the 611.

I found it interesting that a dealer web site would recommend a bradco 611 for a 3710 Kub. When I talked with bradco, they didn't recommend it for a 3710 but were more than willing to sell mounting brackets. (Don't know about the larger L's but the 4310 is about the same physical size.) The 509, 511 and 609 are ok for L3710 and bigger. The 511 has the same reach as a 611 but less power. The 609 has about the same power but less reach than a 611.

My Bradco 11HD (very similar to current 611) weighs 1800 pounds and would be a LOT of freight hanging on the back of a 3710. It would handle it, but would be tippy on sloped ground. Once the feet are down, tractor size doesn't mean as much to backhoe performance. But with feet up for repositioning - a too-big hoe can be a PITA.

What do these hoes and frames sell for? Any sense?

The kubota 3710 bradco mounting brackets for the backhoe and tractor is about $875 including shipping at dealers cost. About $1150 retail. Retail on a Bradco 611 backhoe about $7995, 12" bucket $350 and 18" bucket $500. Power beyond kit about $150. PTO pump kit - dont know. Too scared to ask.
Bought my 611 used for $4500 including 12 and 24" buckets and hydraulic hose connections. My came off a Case skid loader and therefore had to order tractor and hoe mounting plates. Overall, retail price is approaching $9000-10,000.
Personally, thats not cheap. Planning big project next year. My brother and I are considering burying and 8" irrigation line, 4' deep for a distance of 4500 ft. I'm hoping to dig 125-150ft an hour. Does anyone think this is a feasible rate or wishful thinking? No rocks or trees all dirt terrain.

The weight doesn't concern me too much. Lift arms are rated to lift 2310 lbs 24" behind the lift point. The bradco hoe sits in very tight to tractor. Even when extended to 11' with dirt in the 24" bucket, the front end doesn't seem too light. The center of gravity however is raised, but still the hoe is only 16" off the ground. Wouldn't want to swing a load of dirt to the side with the stabilizers raised. Your L5450 would be a great match.

125-150 feet per hour is on the high side - your 3710's internal pump may be the limiting factor - flow is a bit low for filling the 611's cylinders at that trenching rate. But once the operator gets the rythm its amazing how fast it will go - especially without rocks, roots etc.

Dick, to go back to an earlier question of yours, I dont know the Bradco 9HD, so I dont know whether Kubota used it.

I have seen the 509 and 609 on the 3710. For some reason the 609 looks bigger to me. Almost too big. The 611 must look gigantic. I like the 509 on the 3710. I was quoted roughly $7600 installed for the 509. I believe the 408 is a better fit for the 3010. I was hoping to put a 408 on my 2910, but they dont make frame brackets for the B series.

In fact, I was sitting on a 3710 with a 509 the other day. It must have had the frame extension kit, because the toolbox was usable and hoe seat didnt touch the tractor seat. I think this is the best fit I've seen on the 3710. The only problem is that if you sat straight up, you would bump your head on the folding ROPS. (And I am only 5'10".) This wasnt bad, because you sort of naturally slump sitting there, and I didnt hit when slumped. It may be worth considering the short nonfolding ROPS or the tall hoe ROPS.
