Hello, after research through this forum, i have purchased a new L4400. It has a FEL, and 1 rear remote. It is gear drive. It now has 1.2hrs on it.
I also got a rear scraper blade for it, which i picked up today (they were sold out at the time i got the tractor). Anyways, i got it home, and went to hook it up to the tractor. I lowered the TPH arms, they lowered very slowly, and i hooked them up to the blade. I hooked up the top link. I moved the control lever to the "raise" position, and the blade did not raise, it didnt even try to. I messed with the control know under the seat, and it made no difference.
Since i have a rear remote, when i move the remote's control lever to either position (as in not neutral), shouldnt the hydraulic system "deadhead" if nothing is plugged into the remotes? Mine does not do anything.
Does it matter if my FEL control valve is in "float" position when trying to operate TPH functions?
I am a heavy equipment mechanic by trade, so i am not a total dummy when it comes to this stuff, though i have never owned a tractor like this before. I work on lots of bobcats, so i understand hydraulics and remotes and such, which is why i was curious about "deadheading" when nothing is plugged into the remotes.
Am i missing something really obvious as to why my TPH wont raise? i dont want to look like a total dummy when i call the dealer and start complaining.
