I think my switch has gone south on me. Last couple weeks it has hesitated, seemingly at the Key and I think it is the switch... I have tapped on the starter a number of times and no change. Lights all work. New bigash battery and clean terminals.... Anyone ever replace the iginition switch on THIS model? How much stuff do I need to dismantle? TIA

Wellllll, here's the answer to my question. I had a mobile tractor mechanic come out. I have used him before, he's local out of Brownsville, Oregon. He went through his standard mechanic analytical processes with meters and jumper wires. It was the Dash board key switch that failed. I suspected it and had one on hand.

The hood needs to be removed. Then the dash cowl and the dash. I wouldn't have been able to do it myself, the hood is heavy and awkward. I surely would not have been able to put it all back together with out messing up.

This mechanic was recommend to me last year and I had him replace a FWD steering knuckle seal once before. Nice job and glad to his number on my tool box!

Sorry no one here was able to help, but sounds like it worked out better for you in the end. A reliable field mechanic is not an easy find!
