Just finished putting pieces together. Pics show thrust bearing placement, bevel seal seating, proper oiling of bearing, race bearing placement.
Things you will need:
Lots of antique ball peen hammers (old ones make you feel like your doing something). Patience, various types of things to hammer including but not limited to wood, iron, brass rods various screw drivers and metal pieces.
Workshop manual and blown up diagrams were a nice help and reference. It also helped that I've been into the other side of the unit. Messicks was great and super fast. Also replaced boots on tie rod ends because it was bothering me when I stared at them long enough....
-First Pic is replaced Bevel Bushing, THIS WAS NOT VERY FUN and the hardest part of this project. This is the patience part.
-The rest of it went together without a major hitch, just lots of pressure and tactical hammering.
-Other pics are self explanatory.
Parts were in the $50 range. Hard to imagine I looked at new tractors for this project................
