Has anyone used a 4n1 bucket on a kubota l39? just ordered one and @860 pounds i was wondering if its going to be too heavy. Do they work good on this small of a tractor?

I've got one on a B1550 which is a pretty small tractor. I have no doubt you'll love it. Its a truly sensational attachment. I have no idea of the weight of my bucket but its no lightweight. You'll probably want some extra weight on the back to improve traction.

Alchemysa,
Is your 4 n 1 a manufactured piece, or something you built (or had built)?? I've always wanted one for my little 18 hp Yanmar, but most are WAAAYY to big (and heavy). Closest i;ve seen to the size for my tractor has been for a mini skidsteer (such as a Toro Dingo), but those were just a bit too small.

I've got an 850 pound skidsteer root rake grapple on my L-39 and it handles it without any problem, weighs about double what the OEM FEL bucket weighs. Still has plenty of lift.

It was on the tractor when I bought it second-hand so I dont know who made it. It has no identifying marks at all but it looks pretty professionally put together so I dont think it was a one-off. The kubota is only 17 hp with about a 5 gpm pump but it handles it reasonably well. Sure, with all that extra weight up front, there is a loss of lifting power but the design of the 4in1 usually means you have a smaller bucket capacity anyway. (And how often do you really need to carry full bucket loads of anything?). As far as I'm concerned the positives outweigh the negatives by so far that its just not an argument.

I have a Construction Attachment 4 in 1 bucket on my L39. It works very well. The weight is probably about the same as the one you ordered. I wouldn't know what to do without the extra versitility this bucket provides. I think you will be very happy you got one too.

Wow, that is the smallest tractor I have seen a 4in1 mounted on.

I just bought a B21 project and it has a 54" 4in1 on it, which weighs
510 lb. Lifting capacity of the Tl421 loader is only a little over 900#,
so a lot is spent on lifting the bkt. I put a CA 60-incher on a L2550
years ago and it weighed 625#. FEL was the BF400 so it could only
do 880# total. Too heavy!

I'm sure its the only B1550 with a backhoe AND a 4in1 in the State. It may be the only one in the world! :D I was very lucky that it came up for sale in the week I started shopping. I wasn't actually looking for a 4in1, but now I can't imagine NOT having one.

Whats a 'B21 project'?

Actually you can get a 4n1 for the PowerTrac 180 which is probably smaller yet. I think the confusion comes with assuming that people are putting skid steer weight 4n1s on. ATI, WRLong and maybe others manufacture quite light weight 4n1 buckets for CUTs. Some only weight 250lbs which is really only 100lbs or so more than the standard bucket. Of course those are not designed to stand up to the work that a skid steer would dish out but then again they are on small CUTs with loader capacities that are under 1000lbs so the buckets, used properly, will last just fine.

I have a 72" Construction attachments 4 in 1 on a L39. They are an excellent match. If your doing a lot of earth work they're great. If you are planning to use the clam shell as a grapple device often, I would get a grapple bucket instead. The opening is just too small on the 4 in 1.

Yes, I can see that the CA 4in1 does not work nearly as well at grabbing
objects, vs. a grapple bkt. This was especially the case in trying to
grab and pick up logs. The logs can easily be squeezed out of the bkt
by the closing action. This problem was alleviated by welding a tooth
on each side of the lower "jaw". The 4in1 I just acquired already
has these teeth....I can not tell if they were added or not.

Any chance of seeing this 4 in 1 bucket in action just to see how it works and what it can do?I have the Kubota B2630 model with the front end loader and backhoe.

I do not know if you are asking me or those other guys with working
4in1s. I do plan to get mine going, but my B21 is in many small pieces and
I am missing about 60 (mostly gears, bearings, and shafts). I should have
it going in a few months. Some of the parts I need will take a month to get
it seems.
