Oil & Fuel L3800 Owners - Fuel Consumption Per Hour

Just thought I would check with other L3800 Owners as to the fuel consumption per hour, since I refill my tank out of 5 gallon jugs mine is more of a guesstimate of about a gallon per hour. What are you guys seeing out of your tractors?

I am aware of two estimates of diesel fuel consumption under "average" conditions: 0.044 and 0.048 gallons/hour/PTO HP.

Steve that works out to somewhere around 1.25 to 1.36 gallons per hour running at PTO RPM setting and I would guess that is pretty close. Of course if you throttle down some the consumption would drop below 1 per hour, just puttering around with some loader work. This is about what I remember from my old L3400hst.

Pretty cool chart.. notice the sprayers use of fuel with No ground engagement just running the tractor over the ground and the usage with the deep plowing . Makes sense.

If I remember right, mine is right around, or less than 1 gallon per hour. But I'm not running at pto rpm, usually between 1800-2200, less for loader work...

That seems about right to me, from what I remember.

Most of the work I do is loader work, so that sounds about right with what I am getting.
