L3800 / L3200

I bought a L3800 last year in March. Hold out for the 0% financing if you can. You cant go wrong. It has plenty of PTO HP for my needs ( 5ft box blade, 5ft bush hog, 6ft finish mower). Due to the size there are some limitations with the FEL but overall its a great piece of equipment. I am about to finish building a 1000ft gravel drive with it.

I purchased 7.5 acres of unimproved land in Aug 09 and had a buddy bring out his big kabota of 72hp out and make a path/ driveway and 2
1/2 acre clearing spots which I covered all his diesal from home and back, provided all food n drinks and haven't ever seen him since. We've been clearing the rest of the property Lil by Lil with my 93gmc , 50' chain and a crapload of pruners ..
I'm lookin for some guidance and more technical spec info on my decision

As far as land clearing goes, if you are doing lots of dirt work I wouldn't suggest a Ag. tractor. Tractors a good because they do many things fairly well, but are designed for ag. use.
People in the business of clearing land don't use farm tractors, they use construction equipment.
You could get a short lease on a good sized Bobcat or track loader, and get the job done in less time, without beating up your own machine.
After the heavy stuff is done, you can buy your own tractor and do your landscape and maint. work. You won't need as big a machine at that point.
Just my 2 cents. You know what your up against better than I do.

Best, Bill
