This is the second time this happened to me. I was out in the woods off our dirt road and I notice the tire is flat and the valve stem is gone. This is time #2, the 1st time I went to the local tire shop and got it fixed. This time was bad, off in the woods with a load of wood on the skid forks. So I unloaded the wood into my truck. I drove it home because I couldn't leave it there, noticed a small dent in the rim and the tire is scuffed up in a few spots. Used the loader to lift it and jack stand under it and got it off. Nobody open now so I have to wait.
Why in the heck is there a guard on the rear rims and not the front? Can I have the rim filled so I don't have this again? Would a tube be better? All I could guess was that I hit something turning and took out the stem. I might go to the dealer for this one. If anyone has had this and knows of a good fix I would love to know what it is.

What tires you have? If that happend to me twice in a short period of time I'd weld a guard on while the tire is off. I have 16" AG type tires, only broke the front valve stem once in 11 years and that was 6 years ago so for me that's not an issue yet, I have a tire changer that will do up to 16" tires and a spare tube just incase.

What is a big deal is my rear loaded tires, 4 years ago my son ripped the valve stem off one and that was just after I had brand new tires tires put on. After the rear tire was repaired I fab a clamp on valve stem gaurd so that it shouldn't happen again, I dont have any tools yet to work on big loaded rear tires.

I have the industrial Titan tires that came with it. I called the dealer this am to see if they foamed tires and they do not but he gave me the shop that does it. They charge $170 per tire but they need it for a few days to cure it. And this being firewood season I just can't do it. The local tire shop fixed me up for $10 and had no problem with the tire or rim. I put the tensioner spring for the chains just over the valve stem. They will get my business from here on in. I think I pulled 3 cord off the side of the dirt road today. My neighbor said that the loggers had to take out some smaller trees to get the bigger stuff for processors out. All fine by me.

I f you run your tractor in the brush it is going to happen, Foamed tires will certainly do the trick but a simple guard will work too. Weld one on or get one welded on. Or make a clamp on guard like this.

Nice job on the guard, I have welded couplings or nipples on rims as a guard but I like yourbolt on one better then welded on.

I went one step further with a clamp on valve protector, I took a old piece of inner tube with a hose clamp, laid the inner tube over the top of pipe, clamped the inner tube on so's to keep out debris being caked in around the valve stem, also makes a lower profile compared to a screw on cap.

With foamed filled tires any concerns of losing shape as in not to get flat spots from sitting still or what about shock force to the front end from going over rough ground, or when the front comes up then suddenly comes back down.............With air and or liquid filled tires there some cushion so's not to give shock load to front end axle castings, imo.

If the tires are off the rims weld on a piece of 2” ID schedule 40 pipe 1.5-2” long as valve protectors. Go to your local construction equipment rental place to see what I mean or google “valve stem protectors”

Personally I wish all manufacturers would put them on all AG and construction wheels from new.

Today I watched the video on the" Tyrfil" . The tests seem to say it has the flexibility to be as god or better than air. I think I am getting this soon. $340 plus tax will be hard but worth it. For now thetire chain tensioner covering the valve works. I also got out my small chainsaw and clear cut any stumps or small sapling stubs.

The power line guys came thru our place once and when they cut the saplings they cut them all at a sharp slant instead of flat. I had to follow them around and cut them off flat for the sake of my tires.
