I have run across a '84 L3750Dt\T TLB. The hoe is 4540 and the loader is a bl900. Tha machine has been beat on at least cosmetically. The hour meter stopped at 2800, so I have no idea how many hours are on the tractor. I understand these machines are well built. What should I look for? What is this worth? What are the specs on the hoe and the loader?
Design.
I have photos if this helpful to anyone.

Possible bigger brother for the l2900 that I have. :)

There is a related discussion at: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72341
Also, sent you a PM.

These machines were very well made, but had weak enough paint that they can look pretty bad cosmetically, while still mechanically good. The key is to look over the hoe and loader for evidence of welded repairs, damaged hoses, bent parts, etc., all indicators of a hard life. Look at the air filter (both inner element and outer element) If either is damaged or missing, it's a bad sign. But if both are intact and reasonably clean that's a good sign. Does the engine sound smooth on cold start? They all put up a small amount of blue smoke until they warm up a little - but then should burn clean. Does this have a mechanical shuttle or hydraulic? All function normally? What about oil leaks? Hoes are notorious leakers - but the tractor chassis should be dry. The value for 22-year-old machines depends completely on condition and has a large range - maybe a high of $18k if pristine down to near zero if worn-out.

Load rating of the BF900 loader is 900kg (2400 lb) straight uplift (more at the front edge if curling the bucket). I don't know about the backhoe - how big are the cylinders in diameter? One test I usually do is put the bucket flat on the ground maybe 8' behind the tractor and push down with the boom. If it can lift the back end of the tractor it is in good shape. If it can't, it's best days may be behind it. As always, prompt cheerful refund if info is bogus. Take care, Dick B

This machine looks good in the photos. It is certainly not pristine but it looks more sun-faded than anything else. The seat is pretty sad but that's easy to fix - the front battery cover is loose (for jumper cable access?) The pics don't show any big patch plates on the backhoe dipper or boom - so that's good. Front bucket doesn't look bent - and there isn't much leakage visible at any of the cylinders. Front rubber has little wear. One test you could do is extend and lift the backhoe and then see how fast it sinks - that tests the wear on piston seals/cylinder barrels. Also, check to be sure the hydraulic oil is clean - no water or milky stuff. If all that checks out and it starts and runs smoothly on all cylinders, a guess at value would be $12k, assuming about 3,000 actual hours. Lots of people are looking for this size machine so it may well bring more than that.
