Mark, The M Series Kubotas sell 50% 4WD where the compacts sell 90% 4WD. Most of us went all our lives without ever driving anything but a 2WD tractor and seeing very few 4WD tractors. You can get by pretty well raising cattle, hay, and general farm chores with a 2WD tractor and it is a lot cheaper.

That said - never again!

When I bought my first 4WD tractor the salesman to me that the two pieces of equipment he would not farm without was: 1. a disk mower, 2. a front end loader. He was absolutely correct. And I would add a third item: 4WD. To me 4WD is as valuable for safely controling a vehicle going down hill as it is pulling or pushing. In most cases more traction is better.

Have a good day,

I had to change the battery in the tractor this past weekend. So I had the brush guard off the front and had to get back working--I'll put it on later--. Was pushing brush up to the stump pile and crunch. I back up hop off the tractor and there on the ground is a piece of my plastic grille. Nice move-seems once you get used to pushing up or riding up on something you don't even think twice about it being gone. Not a smart move on my part to say the least.

The good side to the story is next week my logging contract starts HOOOOOORRRAAAAYYY Saw a running and trees a droppin--- ole bessy just a dragging. Life is good.
