Hi all,
I have a leak it appears at the bottom of the case of my right front bevel gear case. Also when I had previously changed the gear oil I noticed some metal shavings in the oil. I found this post to be great info but I was wondering if I could just remove the whole bevel gear case from the Axle case and bring it to the dealer and have them disassemble it and diagnose what needs to be repaired. Thanks!

Is there noise or visible looseness? If not but you're concerned about the filings, taking the bevel case off the axle may not be useful. A technician would likely prefer to inspect the tractor whole, diagnosing it with and without load etc. If the only present symptom is an oil leak, apparently just at the bottom, the easiest cure is to pry out the C plastic plug and tap in a new one.

Thanks! I'll try to just replace the plug and go from there.
