Kubota Grand L3540
Looks like im gonna be getting a Grand L3540 HSTC in the next few months and I have a question.... can a MMM be on the tractor the same time the loader is and can it be ran with the R4 tires?
They way it looks to me is if I want the loader to stay on the tractor and run the R4 tires im gonna have to go with a RFM, am I thinkin right guys?

I bought my L3240 in 2007. I spent a lot of time turning my hay field into a nice lawn. I am set up with the 724 loader and MMM on loaded R4's. I told the dealer that I wanted the tires with the MMM and they said no problem. After reading the manual, I discovered the deck and tires are not compatible according to Kubota. I addressed this with the dealer and he said that he had done this for a couple of other guys and they were happy. I have found that with the mower raised to it's fullest, the right rear anti-scalp wheel sometimes rubs on the rear tire. I dealt with that by just lowering it a very little bit when I transported the mower deck and it was never a real problem.

I would recommend the setup and will say it is the best mower I have ever used, it leaves my lawn looking awesome.

The only thing that adds to my mowing days is I take the mower deck on and off every time I mow. I find that I use the tractor a lot in between mowing, and I do not want to beat up my mower deck. Also, I remove the loader every time I mow. My experience was with the mower and loader on, not only was I more likely to knock down a wall of the house but the extra weight on the front end did damage to my turf on turns. I think it adds about 20 extra minutes to my routine but I am still very happy. If I didn't do much loader work in between I would just leave it off for the mowing season.

If it helps any, the FEL removal/installation on these things is about a five minute job and with a good ground crew even less.

Hmmm.... thanks for the info.... its something ill have to look into and think about. I always take the FEL off my 2520 when I mow too. Is the mower deck easy to take off and put back on on the Grand L's? My JD has the drive over mower deck and I really like that about it cause it makes it really easy to take off.

It is not drive over easy... But with the FEL on the tractor it is less than a five minute job. I wouldn't even try doing it without the loader. I saw the procedure in the manual and decided it is not for me. Just lift up the front end, roll the mower under, attach it to the front, lower the tractor down, attach the rear lift arms, attach the drive shaft and go.

The nice thing about taking it on and off so frequently is that it is easy to do maintenance, like grab the blades off for sharpening and hit the grease zerks.
