Today I was pushing some brush around when the engine coughed once and stopped. I immediately heard and smelled fuel pouring out. The fuel filter bowl was gone. I found it quickly and reattached it but then the fuel continued leaking fron the top rear of the piece the bowl screws in to. I sadly watched almost a full tank (~8 gallons) leak onto the ground. The repair looks simple.
My concern is starting the engine after the repair as I've heard never to let the fuel run out. What do I need to know? Thanks!

Since the engine wasn't running hopefully it didn't drain from the entire system. When my bowl came off I got it back on in a few minutes and didn't have a problem.
