Tractor
Kubota L3400 HST
I'm searching high and low for a 30 HP range tractor and have come to the conclusion that the L3400 HST best meets my application of mowing, firewood, road maintenance, snow removal, and assorted jobs on my acreage. I am a hobbyist with the tractor.

A local dealer with a strong service department has quoted the following:

L3400 HST tractor
LA463 loader w/skid steer quick connect system
R-4 tires, filled
Delivery $16,500

Landpride rough mower 5 ft. $1,200

What do you guys think? Purchase or keep shopping around?

In comparison, I paid US$18,000 for a B7800 (30 hp), loader, mid-mount mower, less than a year ago. I'd say you have a good quote.

I'm not real current on pricing... but that sounds like a really good deal to me.

You are getting a good price; however, double check on the three point that you have INFINITE POSITIONING CONTROL, and NOT the INCHING VALVE, which was installed on those tractors when first introduced to the market!! If it has the inching valve, Kubota will replace it free. You definitely don't want the inching valve when using a box scraper, or other ground engaging implements; because it becomes a PITA to get a proper height setting. It has been the biggest complaint on this board forcing Kubota to upgrade the tractors to the infinite control, when the tractors were introduced. Also, test it before taking delivery; just in case it wasn't installed.

In Maine, where everything seems to cost more, a month ago they had a left over 3400DT for 15,990. That was with loaded ag tires, block heater, plus $500 for a qa bucket. When that one was gone, this year's would be 5% higher.

Getting HST, R-4s, and qa for what my dealer wanted for just the qa sounds amazing - or I just have an expensive dealer.

Thanks for all the responses, Guys!

I went back to the dealer, asked for and received for free an installed chain hook for the bucket and necessary reinforcement. The 0%/3 yrs/$0 down was too good to refuse so I bought the tractor. Delivery is Friday.

This is my first tractor and I look forward to lots of fun. Hopefully my future of tractoring is safe and fun!
