L3301 Leak at Lines to Transmission Filter

A friend has a L3301 with the hydrostatic transmission.

The two lines with three connections shown in the attached pictures are leaking where the bolts hold them to the filter base/housing and the transmission housing.

It looks like to me that the fix would be to replace the O-rings is that correct?

Does anyone know what the part numbers are for them?

If I drive both left side tires up on ramps would it prevent losing all the hydraulic fluid?

If you can confirm that is indeed leaking from there, then yes, should be a matter of removing the line and replace the o-ring. Coat the o-ring in oil before installing to help it slide in.

Also, drain all the fluid first hand or you'll be dealing with an huge mess.

It shows that each connection used two o-rings part number 04816-00120 so the fix requires six o-rings.

Thanks for the tip on draining rather than trying keep the oil inside.

Well, looking at it closer, you may not actually need to drain it, as looks like that pipe feeds the HST directly, but be prepared regardless. It will always leak some at least.

You need to clean everything up and probably get helper to identify exactly where the leak is occurring. My line recently split on the weld seam. Impossible to find the leak with the machine off. Under pressure the seam opened up and sprayed out like a pressure washer. I was having a hard time trying to find the source of the leak as initially it just appeared as dampness and dust collecting on un-related areas.

Be extremely careful when inspecting under pressure, don't feel for leaks with your hands and fingers.

Well replaced six orings and started it up and immediately it blew out two of the orings at the filter housing top port.

However, I just used orings from a generic kit I had so NOT Kubota parts.

On a side note it is missing the bracket that supports the filter so I think even with Kubota parts it the leak will reoccur due to the metal lines flexing.

Replaced the one line from the transmission case and the filter housing and six O-rings with Kubota O-rings.

Fired it up and no leaks.
