Hello all,

After changing the oil in my L3200 I was left with some questions for other operators.

1. The manual calls for 6 US qts. I dumped the oil and put a new filter on.
When I checked this am the level was 1/4 inch above the top hole on the dipstick . Is this normal?

2. I also checked the front axle UDT level. It was low I poured into the higher fill hole until it ran out of the "check "hole . I may have capped it too soon. Can you "overserrvice " the front axle? I dont think I did but I did not know enough about how the thing works to say with confidence.

I think this is the same engine and drivetrain as the L28/34 so I would love to hear any thoughts.
Cheers,

R3

My first thought is on the oil sump, did you remove both drainplugs?
or just one? on the oil level being high.. I have always filled a little and then keep checking the dip stick. After it is full, start it up. run a bit. let it set and check the dipstick, top up as needed.. This prevents overfilling and gets the filter full. Also spec's given in a manual are for a dry engine, not one that has ever been run and may have oil in in the galleys.

I drained both plugs for about 30 minutes. It seemed pretty empty.

Never thought of the dry "quantity" listed in the manual.

Good Stuff !

What K0ua said, and your front axle will be fine.
