I'm getting ready to complete the 50 hour service on my L3130 with Hydrostatic Transmission and wonder if any TBN members here have any advice before I embark on this task????? I will be replacing the two hydro filters and new Super UDT fluid. I already bought the filters but still need to get the fluid. Anyone know how much fluid I will need?

Are there any caution areas that or specific steps I should be following???

Things like:
1. How many drain plugs and location?
2. Take filters off first, last, or other?
3. Break-in or Run-in after fluid is changed???
4. Any tips or suggestions are welcome

Thanks in advance
TD

Do you have an owners manual?

Yes I do. Was reading thru it last night. According to the OM the procedure seems cut and dried but know there can be some hidden difficulties that aren't mentioned.

Which filter is for the Hydro-side and which for the Hydraulic-side?

Be ready to catch a lot of oil!! It comes out fast and there is 10 gal. of it.

There is more than 10 gallons, I used a 15 gallon wash tub. Start on the plugs on bottom then after they drain you need to do the left and right final drive areas. Do the filters after draining everything. My shop manual says 11.1 gallons transmission and 6.9 quarts for front axle, the axle may use either Super UDT or SAE 80, 90 gear oil. Get a new bucket pump for putting the oil back in as it is hard to pour in using funnel. After you get it filled you need to idle tractor some so you get the air purged out of the hydro and hydraulic circuits and then recheck fluid level.

If you have hydraulic remotes and hydraulic attachments buy extra SUDT as you will lose a little fluid each time you break a QD connection. I am getting ready to do a 400 hour change and bought 12.5 gallons (2 5gal and 1 2.5 gal).

You will need several metric sockets or wrenches. I can't remember for sure but I think the largest is 19mm.
