L3130
I am looking at a new l3130 with a loader la723 with r4 tires. The dealer that I have talked to quoted 17800. Is this a good price?

Not bad. I don't think your going to find a lot of wiggle room at that price. The L3130 is a dynamite little tractor. While you did not mention which transmission, the price between the 3 available for the 3130 don't have huge differences. All are great. I prefer HST but you may find the standard or even GST a perfect match as well.

That does sound good....when I bought the dealer quoted 17900. I have the HST tranny and decided not to get the loader after it came down to it. Now I wish I would have went ahead and bought the loader. The funny thing about it is that the wife said to go ahead and get the loader and I thought I would not use it enough to justify the additional cost. But let me tell you the L3130 is great. I have no complaints and have had no problems. She is quiet and very smooth to operate. What tranny are looking at?

I am looking at the FST tranmission.

Thats the gear drive version. One of the best shifting tractors I've ever driven.

My dealer qouted 17,500 for L3130HST and LA723 loader with R4 tires. He claims to be the #1 Kubota dealer in the US. I am just waiting for an appraisal on my trade-ins. Your deal sounds reasonable for a HST or GST.

The FST gearbox shifts as smooth as my truck. If you don't mind cluthing and shifting, it's the way to go. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

"He claims to be the #1 Kubota dealer"

--- this is funny, everyone claims to be #1 cause the vendors give out so many #1 awards. One for each tractor, one for each line, on for volume, etc, etc. We have been number one for a few of these before. To my knowledge, the largest dealer is actualy in Alabama and has about 50 dealerships.

I got the L3430, 723 FEL, SBX720 Box, AG tires, DT tranny for about $17,500. I was happy with that. Yours sounds good. I gave up the R-4s and wanted the DT tranny anyway for the trade up in horse power. What great tractors they are!

Can anyone tell me exactly what is a fair price differential between the HST, GST & FST. One dealer that quoted me says a $200 differential between the different models. Is this right?? Seems odd that the diff between HST and gears on a New Holland is about $1,500!! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I don't know how these things are figured. I went to the same dealership, had two different sales people give me a quote on a L3830 HST and came out with one quoting me $2000 less. Everything else was equal. I have found that the differences between transmissions may well have to do with whats available. All are great transmissions and have used all 3. If you want manual and find the difference is not great, I would lean towards the GST, otherwise, the FST is a very good transmission. All said, I can't think of any transmission Kubota makes today that is not good. They have figured it out.

The price difference Between Gear and GST is about $900, and about $300 from GST to HYD. Thats on an L, it varies amount models. If your getting a $2000 price swing from a dealership I would be concerned about where you are shopping. Its normal to get some variation, but not like that.

I just took delivery on a 3430 GST with a 513 loader and R-4's for 16,700. The dealer made me a heck of a deal on this tractor because he didn't want me to buy green. The prices I was quoted originally and from other dealerships on a 3130 DT was 16,500 with a 513 loader and r-4's The 723 was $450 more.
