hey guys, i am thinking about buying a new landpride fdr2584 rear discharge finish mower. It is a 84" model, and was wondering if it would be too much for my Kubota L3130. Also was hoping someone that owned one of these mowers, could maybe give some opinions on quality of cut, etc. Just wondering if maybe i shouldnt go for the 6 ft model instead, because my tractor is hydro and still not sure if the 84inch will be too much strain. i have the r4 tires, and really think the larger mower would cover my tracks better. any input from you guys would be great. thanks

I have a L3130 with a 72" KK. I cut my grass when it's long, it's just about all it wants.

It will pull it just fine, I pulled a woods RM990 with the one I had and worked good on the flat land, but going up hill you could tell it was back the because of the weight.

I have the same model mower and I pull it with my JD 27 hp on the pto. It may bog down a little in very thick long grass about 12in high. The only thing is that the blades are very expensive. The cheapest I have found is about $38 a blade from dealer. Love the mower other than that.

John you said you have the same mower. Are you saying you have the 84" or the 990. If you have the 990 that is nuts on the price, I haven't had to buy any yet. My brother has a older 990 and he got new ones for his last year and I don't think he paid that much. I well check with him.

Hi Lee, for RM990 blades the best deal I've found is the 91-767 blade from Agri Supply For some reason they don't have the application listed right, but they've sold these blades for years and as far as I can tell they are the same as Woods blades. I bought a supply of them back when they were 8 bucks - they're up to 11.49 now but the dealer gets a lot more.

Sorry for the confusion. I have the 2584 mower. I think because it is 7 foot and the blades are 29-30 inches long nobody carries them and that's why they are so expensive.

I looked around alittle for your blades and I see what you are talking about. I did talk to my brother and he said he paid just over a $100 for a set from a woods dealer. They can be had for less after market. I almost had the the big one when you said $38.00 each.

I'm interested in the same mower, the Landpride 84". I also priced the 90". I couldn't believe it, but the 90" was $2,000 more.

Will it cut 2' tall pasture grass (no brush, just tall grass)?
