Sorry, I tried searching but couldn't find it, when I first joined I read all the titles of the posts in the kubota forums back to the start and remember reading that one.

I don't know if what you are experiencing is what I experienced a year or so ago. . but if it is, it is an easy fix. I posted a similar problem and received the answer here. . posting was under Monkeybreath, but somehow that name was deleted and so I have now signed on differently. Anyway, I parked the tractor one evening and came out the next day and it was stuck in one range, I think L. I could not change it. The post that provided the answer was to take a look down into the slots . . of where you change ranges and see if their was some binding. There appeared to be such. I was told to take something and tap it at or near the point of the binding. I took a rebar and gave it a tap, the binding came undone and it has been fine ever since. It was a 30 second fix. It had nothing to do with the clutch or anything else - just some binding of the levers. Hope this works. . . I was ready to call a mechanic and I live a long way from a mechanic. But this forum solved it.

This is weeks old memory but here's a stab. Not sure on yours but on my 3130 the control lever runs down to a pivot shaft that is shared with the cruise control. From there I have a linkage rod that ties to another shaft or pivot point further forward on the hydro gear case. Never been much deeper in than that. If you have this linkage rod configuration, I'd start with pulling it off at one end to try and isolate the sticking problem to foreward or aft the linkage rod. On my tractor, once the linkage rod would be unhooked you would at minimum know that the control lever is or is not bound at the pivot shaft. If that's free you'd have to move to the other end of the linkage to see if there is something evident there. I assume eventually you end up at the penetration point of the hydro case. Hopefully you isolate the problem before you get there.

HTH,

I should be checking it out sometime this week. Hopefully it's in the linkage... I really don't want to see that the linkage is fine and the problem is internal. I'll post back and let you know. Thanks to those that offered suggestions.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you all. The shifter was stuck due to it being separated from part of the linkage. A big prybar fixed the problem. Thx for all the help!
