L3010 Dash removal and glow plug light

My L3010 glow plug light is intermittently on and off while operating. I have read posts about installing a push button switch that momentarily supplies a ground circuit to the controller. Any suggestions on the best way to do this would be appreciated. My first hurdle is to remove the dash and it does not want to come off easily and I don't want to break any of the plastic tabs or lugs. Suggestions?

It turns out that by pushing the slack in the tachometer cable from the engine side, it allows enough room for the gauge panel to move forward enough to access a bolt in the center of the plastic panel ( goes from side to side and the start switch is mounted to). this allowed enough room to access the glow controller etc.. My next task will be to determine if I want to pop for a new controller or alter it to a manual switch. Still looking at the schematic. Suggestions?

Had similar problems with F-I-L's Cub 7260. Wasn't sure if the problem was the glow controller/timer or the thermal sensor to it. F-I-L likes SIMPLE, so rather than fully diagnose, or buy expensive OEM parts to replace both, I just added a momentary push button to ground the controller relay coil.

I ended up coughing up $75 for the control module. The parts guy said the controller controls the relay, so the problem is in the controller not the relay. This proved to be correct. Back together again and working properly.

I had to do the same fix to mine a couple years ago. Nice to have it working right I bet. On mine the relay would sit there and chatter.
