down by the brake pedal that cracks and sucks air. Man that thing is expensive, cant I just use a hose that diameter and be fine long as long it doesnt have any kinks in it?

As long as its made for hydraulic suction line.

Not sure, but I dont think radiator hose is good for hyd oil, and I think its too soft and would collapse.

And its got some tight bends, if you can get some pre-bent suction line you'd be good. But it was a common issue, and the new hose dont have the cracking issue. So my vote, just get the OEM one and be done for good

I thought the replacement hoses are "better built" and last longer, I might be wrong... I know mine is lasting. I thought mine was $23 or so, yea not cheap.

I put one in stock and I'm waiting for the original to fail or look bad. I think it was just over $20. 2005 at 510 hours.

New hoses will not crack like the older originals. The cracking was caused by the hoses being put in place before the engine was painted. The hose was compromised by the painting and heated drying process. Kubota fixed that process at the factory (stopped installing the hose before painting/drying) and new hose or course are not subjected to the issue. I would suggest sticking with OEM if you need a replacement. Doubt you would ever need to replace it again.
