L2800 HST Question

Got 10 hours on my new L2800. So far I love it. Just was curious about the HST transmission. It seems that when I first push on the pedal it surges then it is fine was just was wondering if this was normal for the HST, this is my first one. This happens even if i give it just a little bit of pedal although it is not as pronounced as when you step on it fast. Also happens in all the ranges too.

Sure the parking brake in not partially on? Has happen to most of us...

You should be able to feather it pretty slowly... What RPM's are you running at?

Parking brake is off. I usually run around 1500rpms or so when just driving around but it will also do it at other rpms. Yes I have left the parking brake on before though, can tell right off the rip that its on HST will sound like your trying to pull a 18 wheeler lol.

Mine does that whenever the pedal starts to get a touch sticky, I just spray some lubricant under the floorboards on the shaft and it quits jerking.

ok thanks rick i'll try the lube, that makes sense with what it is doing the fluid levels are all good.

Is this instead of greasing the three zerks down there? or do you grease it too?

I grease all 3 zerks every 10 hrs along with fel, bh, etc but the treadle still seems to get a little sticky after a couple or three weeks so a shot of fluid film gets it working smooth again.

No worries Matt, so what kinda sleds do you ride? My 700 rmk is the only toy I allow myself these days, gotta have at least one vice

Had a super sport, then a yamaha venture 4 stroke until the wife decided that she wanted to drive her self so sold that and bought a nytro xtx and she rode the super sport. Sold them last year hope to get back into the sport sometime but have bigger fish to fry right now.
