L2501 and Titan quick hitch

Just got my Titan quick hitch last week & I want to be sure I'm doing this right: The PTO shaft to my rotary cutter interferes with the quick hitch when I have the 3 point lever all the way down. I need to lift the 3 point up to about 1-1.5 on the position control scale to keep it from hitting the shaft. I see there is a manual limiter on the position control. I loosened that up and slid the limiter up so it keeps me from lowering the 3 point too low. That's what it's for, right - to set the lower limit? I'm not doing any harm in leaving it this way am I?

BTW, the Titan works good so far. Seems well made and the only delivery issue is that one of the nylock nuts was missing for the top hook. Havent tried it on the rossi sickle bar yet. Hope to fit that this coming weekend.

I do my l2501 the same way. That’s what the adjuster is for, it won’t hurt anything to leave it like that unless it years worth and the knob might stick alittle like on old tractors . I use mine all the time clipping pasture to keep the height adjusted and don’t have any issues. If you are going to have the tractor parked for couple of days with the bush hog on it, I would disconnect the pto so I could take the weight off the tractor by setting the bush hog on the ground but since you have a quick hitch, you could unhook the bush hog quicker that doing what I said. Do you have the right side grab handle and the adjustable pin style stabilizers on your tractor?

OK, thanks. It was logical to use the limiter, just wasn't specified in the manual anywhere and I didnt want to hurt the 3 point. I have the right side grab handle but the stabilizers are stock.
