Time for me to repay my neighbors. The target is an L2500. The mission, replace the turnbuckles with something like the sliders on the B-series. The problem, on the L2500 the turnbuckles are on the outside of the link arms.

Is there something in the L-series that's better than the turnbuckles? Anybody got part numbers, pix, which models, etc? I pulled the parts manual for the L2800DT. It's the same as the L2500.

Any help greatly appreciated.

The cheap option would be to simply use chains. Weld a hook onto both arms and run the chain through it to adjust the allowable sway.

Chains? A little old school. They'd be easier to adjust and easier to replace when they break. His turnbuckles tend to bend. Makes them tough to use.

We'll see what we can design for attachment points.

Any body else do anything with theirs?

Bill, how about giving us a picture. Maybe some one could come up with a solution to the problem.

Here are a couple of pix of the link arms on the L2500. Note the lack of clearance on the left side. Both sides look like that. It just shows better in the picture of the left one. The turnbuckles end up being a PIA to work with. Plus they tend to bend.

Kind of hard to tell by the pictures, but can the center drawbar be removed? If so, perhaps a stubby bar inserted and used for the anchor point of the telescoping sway stays. Another possibility might be to weld a clip (lug) to the lower TPH arms up under the axle as near the front pivot point as possible for an anchor point. Also look at extending the length of the forward pivot pins and using them as an attachment point.
