Hey guys. Long time since something has gone wrong for me to post!

This week my yard mower L118 20 hp John Deere was mowing fine then it started making an awful rattle noise. I parked it went and bought a new mower and finished my mowing so I could go on vaction! I just got back today and went to check it out. I lifted it in the front with Kubota loader.
Nothing seemed loose and I changed the blades and sat it back down. I did find a few rocks laying on the mower deck. COULD IT BE THAT EASY? Nope..started it up. Depressing clutch pedal slightly stops noise. I was a able to mow fine. I have not downloaded the schematic yet but am sure someone else knows just what this problem is! If anyone has had this problem please shoot me details before I try and pull out hair taking this thing apart. Thanks

Any luck on figuring out what was causing the sound? It sounds like the same issue mine has. If I push the clutch in a tiny bit the horrible grinding sound stops.
