L series tire question and problem.

Definitely some great info. My uncle has a MF 240 that is around 20 years old and has the original Goodyears on the rear and they still have quite a bit of life left. My new 2006 L3400 has Goodyear on the front and Firestone on the rear. The one the dealer had a couple of weeks ago that he sold had the same set. In my ag experiences, goodyear and Firestone make a very good AG tire, but Goodyears has seemed to be the better of the two. I look at JD's and NH's and they both had Titan tires on them. I was not impressed at all by the Titan tires, but seems everyone is using them. Tread seemed awful aggressive for an AG tire. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I hope that Goodyear AG tires continue to be good tires. However, I believe that Titan recently purchased Goodyear AG.

I just wanted to put in a good word for my Titans, with the proviso that this is purely anecdotal, and "proves" very little.

My Titan turfs are the only tires I've ever had (this is my first tractor), and for all I know, they suck and I don't even know it. But after 560 hours of some extreme punishment, including countless instances of having all 8,000+ lbs. of tractor and load on just my two front tires (Titan turf 29 x 12.50 -15), the only problem I've ever had was picking up a nail in my left front, and "Slime" and a pair of pliers had me back up and running.

Plus, they are GREAT in the snow. I haven't even put my chains on yet, and they get me around in peoples' backyards really well.

Again, I realize there are probably better tires out there, I just wanted to speak up on behalf of my Titans, who really have given me all they've got, and who would probably be very hurt if they could see all the mean things that are being said about them. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
