Looks Like a momentary push button switch, correct? Isnt there *any* after market third function button that is sold at a reasonable cost? Nothing says you need to use a Kubota switch.

Im sure there are a few vendors on here that can help you out with a much better designed button.

- It's a momentary switch with a lock in the down position. When you push it down , it locks and a backlight comes on. My peeve is the cost of this switch from Kubota and the fact they wouldn't cover it under warranty.
Here's my post when I got it installed..http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-owning-operating/322930-third-function-aux-hydraulics-kit.html. This is the diagram on the loader on how the switch operates. There's two buttons on the knob to make it go in two different directions after you have turned it on. So the switch that broke is probably just simply routing the voltage to the valve. The two on the knob actually are used to operate the direction of the lines upfronthttp://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/files/kubota-owning-operating/408398d1422103717-third-function-aux-hydraulics-kit-img_1338-jpg.... Here's the diagram posted on this link IMG_1338.JPG If that's the case, the fix should be simple with a cheap switch. I'll check it out next week when I get the tractor back from some other work being done

Sounds like it is a latching illuminated push button switch (such as Amazon.com: Black Push Button Switch Latching Blue Ring LED 18mm: Automotive )
It has 3 connections on the bottom, correct? If so, they are:
1. Power in
2. Switched power out
3. Ground (for the light)
When it is pushed down, 1 and 2 are connected and the light that is tied to 2 gets turned on.

Sweet. Thanks for looking that up. Looks like it might work. I'll look at the current drain it pulls and make sure the switch can handle it. 0.5A is not much. Although I'm pretty sure the switch actuates a relay on the valve. In that case, most control signasl to relays are usually low current. Here's an $8 switch that'll run 5A. LED 12V back light with both Normally closed and normally open selections...Amazon.com: Joyluxy® QN19C5 Latching Metal Push Button Switch 5A/250VAC 1NO1NC SPDT ON/OFF Industrial Car Switch with 5 Pins Suitable for 19mm 3/4" Mounting Hole - Black Shell Red Light: Automotive... I'll have to make sure it fits in the existing hole. Not particularly inclined to modify the mechanics if I dont have to

I just looked for a latching push button lit switch, I didn't look at volt/amp ratings, so that sounds like a great plan for you.

Do a search for Granger they have all kinds of switches. If they have a store in your area you may be able to take it into the store and they can fix you up

Installed an $8.99 Switch this morning. First had to disconnect the wire harness underneath the tractor that goes to the switch. That allowed me to unscrew the top part of the loader stick so I could get to the wires and switch easily. Then installed the switch. Here's a video of what I did after completion. Video is OK not great. Should have used my go-pro. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8nSQ2GxMOQ&feature=youtu.be
I then used hot glue underneath the housing to give it a good strain relief. That was a little messy since i did it up side down and the glue ran a bit. I'm hoping it'll last at least 5 years. sw1.jpg Hot glue here:sw2.jpg

Just for future consideration . . . I don't believe Kubota makes a 3rd function valve. But LandPride does make a 3rd function valve specifically for Kubota tractors.

If it is a Landpride unit . . . You would talk to them. I seem to recall they have a year warranty on most everything electronic.

I bought it through Kubota. Not sure if they actually manufactured it or not. I think it is a third party source. Another Kubota dealer told me that. Regardless, I fixed it for about $9 and about an hours worth of work.
