Looking for some input from the Tractor gurus.
Quick overview - it has come down to two tractors. Will be used in the woods, moving dirt, snow, compost gravel, clearing and winching logs, bush hogging and general work on 30 acres.
The two I have quotes on are the following; Kubota L4060HST (all in $42,400) and Yanmar LX4500 ($42,600) - both with loader, grapple and 5 inch hydro chipper - other various bells and whistles. Will use buddy's bush hog, winch and 6 ft. rototiller.
Would greatly appreciate thoughts on pricing and comparison. Located in central Maine.
Thanks in advance!!!!!!

Welcome husseyhill, I'm not familiar with Yanmar's current Tractors. I am familiar with the tractors that they built for John Deere that I had " '88 JD 755 and '00 JD 4700" ,Excellent tractors and engines in quality and longevity. I also have a Kubota (M59) that I'm not real impressed with the quality of the machine but have had no problems with the engine.

Very similar tractors. though I dont have experience, others say the GrandL HST is second to none.

Allthough the yanmar has a tad more power and slightly stronger loader, I didnt realize they were priced as high as the kubota grand L series. I think the kubota will have LOTS better resale value years down the road.

Have you priced a L4760? Closer loader specs and HP to the LX4500

It's not really possible for anyone to give you an opinion on pricing without a breakdown. What are they quoting for the tractor with FEL, and the options/bells whistles (and list those individually)?

Did price a 4701 and it was comparable to the 4060. Not quite as fancy in the cab area but more HP etc. I guess my intrigue is the Yanmar. Being new to the game was not aware how they "made the green" for a number of years. I know they sold as Cub Cadet and have now gone independent. Just curious to the quality of the tractor - they aren't the common name like Kubota and John Deere. Thanks for your thoughts

Sticking just to the tractors. Both have standard features. tires are loaded, block heaters, 72 FEL, rear and forward hydro controls. Tractor and additions plus FEL - Kubota - $31,222 Yanmar - $32,300. That includes various cash discounts on both. Hope that give a bit more detail.

Thanks

Have not priced a 4760 - a few more horse I saw. Can certainly ask. Is it a tractor you know or have some positive things to say about. Again - I'm not familiar with all various models and brands. Appreciate the info.

If you are going to sell in your lifetime go with the Kubota. Resale is much stronger.

People say this all the time, and it sure doesn't fit what I've seen personally or what other people have posted here after selling machines. When I sold my LS, which should have a very poor resale value according to many, it was 15 months old, had 215 hours on it, and I got $2K less than what I paid for it. I don't believe that a Kubota, or any other brand, would hold its value significantly better than that. That was with zero advertising and all of a 30 second negotiation on price.
