Kubota vs Kioti?

   / Kubota vs Kioti? #41
New development - I've been calling around checking availability of Kubotas and Kiotis.....Kubotas are non-existent, 6 months out, maybe. In AZ or CA...
The closest Kioti dealer has them in stock and more on the way. I was kinda leaning towards Kioti anyway. The guy I talked to said they sell 80 a month all over the country. I sent in a credit app as a first step, we'll see what happens...
Last month the Kubota dealer in Show Low had a couple of Ls on their lot.

And my Kioti DK 35 is a 2001 model I bought new and never given me any problems.
In many locations dealer support for Kioti is limited. Many of these Kioti “dealers” I have seen sell tractors as a sideline to a feed store or power sports shop and their repair facilities look a little sketchy. I know that isn’t the case everywhere, but that’s what I’ve seen in AZ and NM.

The one I'm dealing with seems pretty large and that's all they do - tractors......

In my area Kioti is sold by a Power sports dealer with about 500 atv's, side by sides, and motorcycles. They actually pulled all their dealerships in my area that sold a competitors products. So at one time I had a Kioti dealership at a NH dealer and IH dealer and an Agco dealer and they pulled all three out within a month period when Kioti redid the dealership structure about 10 years ago.

Not my experience. My two closest Kioti dealers are all in dealers.

I posted a while back about my new tractor venture - and got a ton of great responses! Thanks again!

So I am very near (1 month) to pulling the trigger and it's come down to this:

A Kioti CK2610 or a Kubota LX2610. Pricing about the same once you add the box scraper to the Kioti. Kubota dealer is 45 minutes away, Kioti dealer is 90 minutes. My viewing of Youtube videos shows me that Kioti is a slightly better tractor (just what I'm seeing) and has some features that I prefer, like the dual pedals....

What do y'all think? All opinions appreciated!

If same price, Kubota will have better resale (if ever needed) and dealer support. If you dont care about either then pick the machine that fits you best.

This "resale" BS is just that! If you pay $3-4K more for the Kubota, you'll get maybe a little more for it at resale....
But, the Kioti (or other lesser known brands) will still hold their value just the same if not a bit better.

So, somebody is searching for a used tractor.... they have $xxxx amount of cash in hand..... they are looking at a used Kubota at $20K and a Kioti at $15K... They only have $17K to spend.... Which do think they are going to buy? Granted, they both would need to be in the same condition, hours, etc...

There are only a few people that buy 'on brand alone', most really look at cost first.

Except the OP already told us they were priced the same…so by your own statement you are agreeing the Kubota will have better resale.

If they are priced the same, then yes, absolutely. I don't have specific prices from all areas, but out here there was a difference of $6K on my SCUT, and almost $9K more for a Kubota over my LS. JD was even a greater difference.

To top if off, both the JD and Kubota dealers here, didn't care about selling me a tractor, literally just pointing at the tractors out in the lot--- there they are....

I should update that after I got all the extras and prices included, the Kioti is actually $4400 less than the most comparable model, the L2501. And that's with a tad more HP, more overall weight, and 800lbs more lift capacity. But the Kubota had 0% financing whereas the Kioti had 1.99%, so payment was only $30 more. That's the info for now.

Has it always been that way? Of the 5 dealers I went to, only one wasn't glued to a computer. The one was out right along side the service mechanics putting tractors together. Wiped off his hands - lets go take a look at what we have. And side business it was not - been an implement dealership 80yrs. Do the rest not understand what a put off staring at a screen is for those working in sales?

When the choice is as close as you say, I wouldn't let the size of a payment influence my decision. As somebody else already mentioned, 0% is a sales gimmick. Once you decide which tractor you like best, it will be time to start shopping around for the best financing.

It appears that the choice will be made by the fact that one of the two has no stock and is not likely to for many months....

At least for the last 5 years that I know of (they have been in business a lot longer than that... like 20 years). I go to the Kubota dealer about once a year to get hydraulic fluid.... it's tough to get anyone's attention to even do that. I no longer go there unless absolutely last resort!

The JD dealer is even worse... I went in with a part number for the JD hydraulic oil dye.... the parts guy couldn't find it in the system. After I asked if they ever even heard of it, he went and got his manager..... who had a serious attitude that he was bothered. I got it online in 2 days.

Hey if my Kubota dealer treated me like that I would not have bought there either.

The Weight, Loader Lift Capacity, SSQA, and No Goofy Treadle are big advantages for the Kioti.

All tractors fail eventually and much sooner if maintenance is neglected. It's a machine and machinery needs to be cared for.

This is yet an other myth that doesn’t seem to hold true around here.
It seems that when you use a percentage scale based on the actual selling price you don’t really make out any better.

Seems foolish to me on two fronts. Pay more for less up front, then have to wait for the right cool aid drinker to pay more for less when you sell and there are other choices that reflect the same savings the original purchaser of alternate brand had.

The shade of Orange definitely has an impact on resale value here in the PNW.
Kubota values are higher on the pre-owned market and appear to sell much quicker.

Surprisingly, new prices between the two brands are virtually identical.

The owner of my company is currently selling his Kioti right now. It’s been on the market for several weeks now. Very nice tractor.

Mike
